16 Magazine was by far the most popular U.S. teen fan magazine of the 60's. The reason? It was the best of them all. It shared the fans' unbridled enthusiasm for the stars, had plenty of great photos and pinups and was always fun to read.
This is the August, 1965 issue and includes:
THE BEATLES - two page color centerfold pinup of Paul McCartney
"The Secret Heart of Cynthia Lennon" - a tribute with 2 photos of John and Cyn and a photo of adorable baby Julian
The luscious Pattie Boyd and her "Letter From London" with a great photo of Pattie in bed with her teddy bear - oh my....
An Installment of "The Beatles and ME" by Neil Aspinall, then road manager and current head of Apple
Beatles Personal Letters - Answered by The Beatles Themselves
What else is in this 16?
The Rolling Stones - “Their Private Picture Book”, three pages of rare early photos with Brian Jones
Bob Dylan with The Byrds - GREAT posed photo
Peter and Gordon - 2 pages
Chad and Jeremy - 2 pages
The Dave Clark Five - visit their homes
The Shindogs - full page feature, "Meet The Shindogs"
Herman's Hermits - neat full page color pinup of Peter Noone plus extensive photo feature
Rodney Bingenheimer - YES, that's right, the future Mayor Of Sunset Strip! A letter to 16 from "Rodney Bingeenheimer" of Mtn. View, California, asking Gloria Stavers to print a "picture of me with Carl Wilson of The Beach Boys". There must be some sort of mix-up, because there is a photo of Carl here, but with a girl named Linda on his lap - but no Rodney!
Gary Lewis and the Playboys
Plus, The Very Latest Last Minute Red Hot News and Gossip !
and much, much more
